They cover Rockhampton Memorial Gardens, Bajool cemetery, Cawarral cemetery, Emu Park cemetery, Gracemere cemetery, Mount Morgan cemeteries, Josekeleigh Cemetery, Marlborough cemetery, Milman cemetery, North Rockhampton and South Rockhampton cemeteries, Warcon cemetery, Westwood cemetery, Yaamba cemetery and Yeppoon cemetery.

Searchable database that covers the numerous cemeteries in the North Burnett Region. The cemeteries include: Byrnestown, Chowey, Coalstoun, Dallami, Degilbo, Eidsvold, Gayndah, Monto, Mount Perry, Mount Shanrock, Mulgildie, Mundubbera and Paradise. Please note that not all cemeteries are currently up-to-date.

Victorian Resources for Family History Research - 17.08.11, 7:30pm

Victorian Resources for Family History Research
Come and hear Shauna Hicks talk on Victorian Resources for Family History Research - looking at sources that are available online for those not able to personally visit Melbourne/Victoria. It covers the usual suspects such as major archives and libraries but also includes some that researchers might not be that familiar with too.
Shauna has been tracing her own family history since 1977 and worked in government for over 35 years primarily in libraries and archives including the State Library of Queensland, the John Oxley Library in Brisbane, the Queensland State Archives, the National Archives of Australia in Canberra and Public Record Office Victoria. She is currently Director of Shauna Hicks History Enterprises www.shaunahicks.com.au.
Shauna has a number of tertiary qualifications including a BA in History and Anthropology from the University of Queensland and a MA in Australian Studies from Griffith University (QLD). She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Library Science from the Queensland University of Technology and a Diploma in Family Historical Studies from the Society of Australian Genealogists.
Shauna is also a Fellow of the Queensland Family History Society, in 2007 was awarded a Distinguished Achievement Award from the Australian Society of Archivists and in 2009 received the Australasian Federation of Family History Organisations Award for Meritorious Services to Family History.

Queensland FHS Open Day - 30.07.11, 10:00am

The Queensland Family History Society would like to invite you to ‘bring an ancestor’ to their Open Day. A showcase of the resources available to help you trace your family history awaits you. Bring their name, birth date, death date, or just anything you might know about them.
We can help!
There will be talks on all aspects of family history research at half hour intervals all day. All the Special Interest Groups will be present to help (Scottish, Welsh, Central European, English West Country and Irish) and the Family Tree Maker and Master Genealogist software groups will be available to demonstrate the programs.
The Open Day will be held at our Library and Resource Centre, 58 Bellevue Avenue on Saturday 30 July, from 10am to 3pm.
Memberships will be available at a special price on the day.
