Digitized maps of Australia

This is another of the great offerings from the National Library of Australia - their collection of digitized maps accessible for free online.
The collection includes Queensland maps although you will have to ‘drill down’ a bit to find them.
Locating the maps:
- Go to the National Library of Australia website www.nla.gov.au
- Click on Explore our Digital Collections (you’ll find it under the heading ‘Using the Library’)
- Click on the link to maps in the section starting “Explore the Australian story through…”
- On the next screen click on All digitized maps (on the right)
Add your search term in the search box and select the type of search you want.
Use the side bar to refine the number of ‘hits’ your search retrieves.
I used 'Kennedy' as my search term and searched by subject to retrieve 6 maps including one of the electoral division of Kennedy (1821-1870) and another with land divisions (1890-1930)
Once you have the map you want, you can magnify the whole thing or parts of it as necessary until you have a legible copy.
Although by no means a comprehensive collection it is another useful resource to be aware of.
