The SLQ family history Nnub is a trial project providing a digital community noticeboard for family historians in Queensland. Anyone can post. You can use it from the Web or from the Nnub touchscreen in the Micrographics area on Level 3 of the State Library.

Use the Nnub to:

  • create a notice to promote family history events, new books, etc.
  • chat on the forum about your favourite family history topic, new resources you have found, or problems you have encountered or solved
  • inform friends, relatives or fellow researchers of interesting notices by using the 'send to a friend' links on each notice
  • subscribe to tags to receive updates on your favourite topics of interest, and to find out about forthcoming family history seminars and talks
  • download the noticeboard software to create a Scribble

NOTE: The content of all notices must be related to family history.

Notices are monitored. Any deemed to be objectionable or not relevant to family history will be rejected.

Orphanage and reformatory indexes at Qld State Archives

Queensland State Archives now has two new indexes available on line for the Toowoomba Reformatory (Industrial Girls School) from 1881-1903.

Toowoomba Girls Reformatory Admissions 1881-1903 and  Toowoomba Girls Reformatory Discharges 1882-1903.
